April Florio, public relations and marketing guru at Atlantic Music Center in Melbourne, came to the job via the runway, not the concert stage. I never really had a hometown. I was an Air Force brat born in Michigan. We lived in Texas, San Francisco, Pennsylvania and New York City, where I worked as a model, actress and in public relations for nightclubs, celebrities and clothing companies.

I did a few indie films and some small parts in big budget movies, some of which was canned. That is the business. They put down roots quickly. I moved to Brevard in temporarily to be with my family. I love my family more than anything. We are very close. Since I was still modeling, I had planned to do Season in Miami. The models get sent to Miami to work in the warm weather when there is nothing but snow up north, so the winter is called Season.

I did a compare and contrast today from a Maxim Magazine editorial I did 20 years ago and you know what I learned?

I just fell in love with Brevard and the people. Everyone has stayed here. You cannot beat the tropics. There is nothing better than listening to a reggae song when you are living on the cruise ship, if you know what I mean.
